Welcome to Cognitrend

Cognitrend is dedicated to bringing the most valuable lessons from the new discipline of Behavioral Finance to the service of the professional investor.

We bring greater clarity to financial markets and an understanding of asset price changes by exposing the beliefs and motivation of the actors that compose the marketplace at any point in time. Our analyses of stocks, currencies and commodities have enjoyed immense popularity for many years. In co-operation with leading financial institutions, we have also pioneered a new approach to market sentiment analysis.

Cognitrend delivers its research in the way that best suits the needs of its demanding clients: in the traditional written form, as teleconference or via the internet as video-on-demand.

Our quantitative approach to the analysis of aggregate investor behaviour has given rise to the development of mathematical trading models. These enable our clients to exploit the systematic (mis)behaviour of others by following precise and objective trading recommendations.

Beyond an analysis of the aggregate market behaviour, Behavioral Finance also has valuable lessons for the individual decision-maker. There too, Cognitrend provides consultancy services that aim to identify and eliminate biases in individual and group investment decision-making. Our education initiatives also include an MBA-level Behavioral Finance course that carries the stamp of approval of the CFA Institute.
